There is no lack of places to eat in Vicuña.  The "Halley" restaurant (named for the comet) occupies this renovated colonial house right on the main plaza, and has the fastest service and the most English-capable waiters.  The salads are superb, the "empanadas de queso" (a steaming turnover filled with cheese) are a must, and meat lovers should try the pork or chicken; both are local, free-range and delicious.
